It provides permanent assistance to scientific research researchers and staff. It is located at an altitude of 2835 meters. The ice sheet is 2,850 meters thick and has migrated several times. Because it is located in the ice sheet climate zone, the average temperature is below minus 50 degrees, and the coldest point can reach minus 82.8 degrees Celsius. This was achieved on June 23, 1982.
