In 2011, after a remarkable 15 years together, Murphy sealed his love and commitment by marrying the talented photographer, David Miller. Their union became the foundation of a beautiful family, as they welcomed their first son, Logan Phineas, in 2012 through the assistance of a surrogate. Two years later, their joy multiplied with the arrival of their second son, Ford, who also joined their loving family through the same surrogacy process.
